Adams Angus Acres, a family owned and operated business, is located in Eastern Idaho ten miles north of Blackfoot along the beautiful Snake River. Chet Adams purchased his first registered female in 1952 at the age of 9 from WJ Harrier and Sons in Montana using money earned from his Grand Champion Lemhi County Fair steer. His parents Bob and Opal Adams, who started the Leadore Angus Ranch in 1941, allowed him to run a few cows on the family ranch.

Adams Angus Acres was born in 1973 when Chet and Phyllis bought a small ranch and purchased five registered Angus cows from the Leadore Angus Ranch. Over the years, more land was acquired and the herd increased to 125 head. Chet developed an eye for good cattle at a young age while accompanying his father feeding cattle with teams of horses and checking the cattle. From these early experiences, he learned about the hard work and dedication it takes to build a successful seed stock operation.

For over 50 years Adams Angus Acres has been “Forging the Genetic Link” by being committed to providing superior seed stock for the commercial producer. Our philosophy of low birth weight with high growth are the type of cattle that are born small but yet exhibit rapid growth to weaning allowing the commercial producer to make a profitable return.

Adams Angus Acres utilizes the newest technologies including EDP’s, Ultrasound and DNA testing to develop a high quality herd. Most importantly, we pay close attention to phenotype, udder quality, fleshing ability, mature size, carcass merit and disposition which can enhance a producer’s profitability.

We market our bulls through our annual SNAKE RIVER VALLEY GENETICS BULL SALE the first Wednesday in March.
